World Cup 2023: India take on demoralised England.
India vs England: While India are second in the standings, England are at the bottom of the 10-team standings after winning one out of their five matches.

India vs England World Cup 2023: India, the only unbeaten team in the ongoing Cricket World Cup, will take on bottom-placed England at Lucknow on Sunday. India are currently second behind South Africa having won all five of their games while defending champions England have tasted victory in just one game out of five at ICC World Cup 2023.
Rohit Sharma and his boys have been dominant so far, which has put them on course to not just make it to the semis, but top the 10-team table at the end of the group stage. What has been remarkable is that India have won all five of their games while chasing. They will also be missing the services of prolific all-rounder Hardik Pandya for at least the next couple of games, but they seem unfazed by this.
With one win in five matches so far, it has been a disastrous title defence from the defending champions England, and the news from the camp in Lucknow is that they themselves believe that they have been eliminated. Following their loss against Sri Lanka, captain Jos Buttler has already conceded the title defence will not happen. On Saturday, Trescothick said that they would love to play on the low and slow pitches in the remaining matches, which would be helpful for them in the five-match Test series, starting from January 25.
“I don’t think we’re necessarily thinking about the competition as such. I think we’re more focused on getting our performance right, getting the better levels of performance than what we’ve shown in the last few weeks,” England assistant coach Marcus Trescothick told reporters.
